What is SupportAwards.org?

SupportAwards.org was established by Corey Ganser, to put emphasis on outstanding customer support and service.   By opening up nominations and voting to the public, SupportAwards.org allows for the people impacted by the support and service to speak up and recognize a job well done. The official award name is Recognition for Excellence in Customer Support and Service, also known as R.E.C.S.S.

How do I nominate a company or person?

Nominations open August 1st 2011 at 8pm Pacific. Once open, you'll be able to nominate by filling out the form on the home page or tweeting using specific hashtags. You can only nominate each company once, duplicate nominations from the same person will be ignored.

How many times can I nominate?

You can only nominate a single company/agent once, but you can nominate as many companies/agents as you want. Duplicate nominations will not be counted.

What do I need to nominate?

Just a twitter account. If you don't have one, you can sign up here: http://www.twitter.com

How does SupportAwards.org determine a winner?

After the nomination period, nominations are open for 1 month, then the top 10 nominations in each category are pooled together and added to the site for people to vote.  The company/person with the most votes at the end of the voting period, which is 3 weeks, will win the R.E.C.S.S. In the event of a tie or discrepancy, SupportAwards.org will have the final decision.

How long are Nominations open?

Nominations open on August 1st at 8pm Pacific and close on August 31 at 8pm Pacific.

How do I Nominate?

You can nominate by filling out the form on the home page of SupportAwards.org. This form will allow you to tweet your nomination through your twitter account. You can also tweet from your twitter account and include the @twittername of the company you want to nominate, the hashtag of the category you are nominating them for, and include 2011 RECSS in the tweet as well.

When is the voting period?

The Voting period opens September 5th at 8pm Pacific and closes September 26th at 8pm. Follow us on twitter or sign up for email notifications and we'll let you know when voting starts.

Don't see a category that fits? Create your own category by adding your own hashtag to your tweet. If there are enough nominations, it will be included. Note there needs to be at least 10 separate companies nominated for the category before it is included.

If I win, what do I get?

The winners of the R.E.C.S.S. will receive an award that will be mailed to them along with a badge they can put on their website noting that they won the R.E.C.S.S. If you are the top agent, then you will win an Xbox 360 Kinect Bundle.

Will My Email be used for Spam?

SupportAwards.org takes privacy very seriously and will only send you emails that pertain to SupportAwards.org.  We will not sell emails or distribute them to a 3rd party.
